Sustainability is Sexy

Between micro plastics, fast fashion, non recyclable items, and the current state of our ecosystems- it feels like the world is burning. It’s almost like humans have become the invasive species to mother earth. And yes, this is a bit dramatic of me- but honestly! People still don’t seem to realize the consequences of our actions, after hundreds of years of pollution and damage. We all need to do our part and step up in being better humans. Whether it’s organizing a beach cleanup, or switching over to reusable goods, it’s not difficult to get started. And you have to start somewhere.
Throughout the years, there have been a lot of companies emerging with the goal to improve the world we live in. I admire companies that give back in ways like this and I wanted to share some of my favorite sustainable companies and reusable alternatives.

MANGgear

MANG® is committed to our ecosystems, having planted over 312,000 mangroves thus far! Mangroves provide life to 70% of marine life, as well as stabilizing Florida’s coast!

Rothy’s

Rothy’s has turned millions of plastic water bottles into the thread that they use to create their footwear! They also use an algae based foam; harvesting harmful algae from waterways in order to keep marine ecosystems in balance.

4ocean

For every product purchased, 4ocean removes 1 pound of trash from the ocean, rivers, and coastlines! Not only that, they’ve created a global ocean cleanup to get rid of single use plastics that end up in our waters.

Wolven

From water bottles into yarn, Wolven creates soft, durable athletic wear & swimwear! They are carbon-neutral, using their carbon credits to support projects like rainforest conservation & landfill methane-capture.
