My Favorite RomComs

Well, its our

favorite

time of the month again ladies! And you know what that means- emotions left and right; so what do we do to soothe our pain? We eat chocolate, lay in bed, and watch romcoms. The perfect remedy to any emotional mess. So let's grab the popcorn (and the chocolate) and get ready to be in our feels.

1.

Sleepless in Seattle (1993):

First off- Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are an epic romcom movie duo. they should just get married in real life tbh. When Jonah, Sam’s (Tom Hanks) son, calls into a late night talk-show program trying to find a new wife for his dad, Sam begins to tell his epic love story on air. While Annie (Meg Ryan) begins falling in love with a man she’s never even met. But with the help of Jonah, they get together.

2.

You've Got Mail (1998):

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan back at it again! She’s trying to keep her small family-business bookstore alive while he’s opening up his superstore bookstore, forcing her to close down. While these two despise each other throughout the movie, little do they know they’re falling in love with each other online. When Joe (Tom Hanks) finds out it’s her he’s falling in love with, he immediately starts trying to befriend her, getting closer to her in real life so that he can reveal to her that it’s him she’s fallen in love with. One of their best movies and definitely one of the best romcoms of the century.

3.

50 First Dates (2004):

She can’t remember anything after a day and he can’t get her out of his mind. He’ll do anything to see her and does everything he can for her to keep up with the passing days. Adam Sandler and Drew Barymore are the perfect duo in this movie.

4.

Blended (2014):

Adam Sandler and Drew Barymore yet again! These two are just too cute in movies together! They have the worst blind date ever and then on top of that, their two families just happen to go on vacation together by accident! As the movie progresses they begin to understand each other better, especially as each of them helps each other’s kids throughout the film. And as always, they end up falling for each other by the end of the movie. Like Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, these two are a couple I wish were together IRL.

5.

Just go with it (2011):

As much as I love Adam Sandler in movies, I love Jennifer Aniston in movies about 10x more! Danny (Adam Sandler) pretends to be married to get girls, but when he meets Palmer (Brooklyn Decker) she’s not interested in getting involved. So instead of coming clean about the whole charade, he decides to enlist his friend and coworker, Katherine (Jennifer Aniston) to act as his soon-to-be ex-wife, but when her kids get involved, it takes a whole new turn. Instead of being a short charade, Danny ends up having to take the entire “family” on vacation acting like their father to impress Palmer, when he actually ends up falling for his best friend.

6. The Proposal (2009):

I honestly didn't think I was going to like this movie when I first saw it, but I was wrong. Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock star in this movie where in the beginning they can't stand each other, then he finds out he has to

marry

her? They get off to a pretty rough start but by the end of the movie they realize just how much they actually cared about each other.

7.

She's the Man (2006):

Okay, if you’re not a millennial then you’ve probably never heard of it, this movie was from before Amanda Bynes went crazy. She’s posing as a dude in order to play soccer with all the guys and it’s going

great

until she falls for her teammate. This one’s a soon to be favorite for everyone who watches it because it's just THAT good.

Did I forget to mention that Channing Tatum's in it?

8.

A Cinderella Story (2004):

For any Hilary Duff fans like myself, this is a childhood classic! Chad Michael Murray is everyone’s favorite prince charming in this 2000’s classic. A modern take on our favorite Disney movie, this one never gets old.

9. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003):

I cannot lie, but Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson are GOALS in this classic. He's trying to win a bet and she's trying to get dumped. Weird right? But it works! They both end up accidentally falling in love with each other (of course) but the story line to get there is definitely one that's different. This movie will forever be one of my all time favorites!

10: 10 Things I Hate About You (1999):

I have saved the best for last! There is no way this movie could be any more perfect. Bianca (Larisa Oleynik) can't date until her older "mutant" of a sister, Kat (Julia Stiles) dates. So what do they do? Pay Patrick (Heath Ledger) to take her out! Little do they know he’s absolutely perfect for her but once he falls for her, everything gets unraveled. Heath Ledger is perfection in this movie, especially when he serenades Kat in the bleachers scene (like omfg I can't handle my emotions right now) This movie has got to be my all time favorite, if only guys like Heath Ledger serenaded you IRL…

Now that you've seen some of my favorite romcoms, leave a comment below telling me some of your favorites! And if you'd like to see any of these movies, check out the links down below!

My Favorite Beauty Products

I would consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to all things beauty, and recently I've been on a feed-your-skin kick. Wearing makeup has felt like a chore a lot lately so instead of wearing a lot of makeup I've been focusing on taking care of and treating my skin with products that really benefit it. I've also been wearing makeup as little as I can (and not wearing makeup at all when I can get away with it).

A lot of people don't realize how important it is to take care of your skin now while you can to prevent any future skin issues. That's why most of my skincare products (makeup even) contain SPF in it to protect my skin.

Every morning when I wake up, the first thing I do is wash my face- sometimes if my skin needs a little more TLC I'll apply a moisturizing face mask. Afterwards I'll use a toner mist then follow up with a vitamin C serum and then a face lotion (always one that has SPF in it). Most of the skincare products I have contain some level of vitamin C in them. I've also been using eye cream lately, it helps wake my skin up and it's also going to be very beneficial for me down the line.

So, all that being said, here's a list of a few of my favorite skincare products:

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum

Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream

My Favorite Self Tanners

I love laying out to get a nice glow going just as much as the next person, but sometimes it can be hard to find a time to lay out and get that vitamin D.

So if there's a time where my schedule's too busy for me to go outside and layout for an hour, I turn to my trusty arsenal of self tanners. I've tried a lot of different self tanners

and I've discovered some great ones! So if you don't have time to go outside to get some color, or don't want to expose yourself to those pesky UV rays, here's a guide to some of my favorite self-tanner products.

As far as self tanners go, you're going to need a separate one for your face and for your body. Otherwise using any self tanner on your face that's not specialized for it may cause you some irritated skin problems so I've found that it's best to have a designated face tanner as well as a designated body tanner.

For face:

  • For a gradual glow, try out the Jergens gradual face tanner, a little goes a long way and it's so light and colorless that it's just like putting on any other face lotion in the morning. Plus, it smells great!

  • For a more immediate tan, try the St. Tropez face tanner,it's a little bit thicker than the Jerkins but if you want a self tanner that gives you that instant-glow, this one is the way to go. You'll see results very quickly and it lasts a good amount of time!

For body:

  • Just as for the face, for a gradual glow I use the Jergens gradual self tanner in the shade medium to dark, if you apply that every night before bed for a few days straight, the glow starts to appear for a more natural look instead of an instant-effect look.

  • If you're wanting an instant-effect, I'd suggest either of these two things: the St. Tropez bronzing mousse, which is very light and you only have to leave it on from 1-3 hours (depending how dark you wanna get) and just rinse it off.

  • There's also the Tarte Brazilliance self-tanner, it's perfect to put on before bed and rinse off in the morning. I love all of these tanners but I would probably say the Tarte Brazilliance is the most long lasting of the three.
